This year another ReSeT demoparty, which is a great success since 2000 (name was Amstrad Expo back then), will take place in Coutances, located in northwest France from Friday 22nd (10:00) to Sunday 24th of June 2012 (18:00). Like every year, the party is organised by Eliot / Benediction The party is opened to all computer enthusiast and for everyone who is intersted in coding, electronics, graphics, music, etc.. Be sure to participate if you can and register here.

Features

  • Big screen
  • Competitions to show up your creativity on Amstrad
  • Some other platforms will be present (Atari ST, Atari XL, C64, ZX Spectrum)
  • Food and Drinks included
  • Showers and Bedrooms
  • Lot of fun!

Competitions

  • Demo: No size limit. The entry must be runnable on CPC 6128 or 6128 Plus, without any extension.
  • Intro (256b, 1k, 4k): Maximum size is 256, 1024 or 4096 bytes. The entry must be runnable on CPC 6128 or 6128 Plus, without any extension.
  • Graphics: All formats / modes are allowed. The entry must be submitted with its viewer program runnable on CPC or Plus.
  • Music: No size limit. The entry must be submitted with its player. The music may not loop and has to end with silence.
  • Remote entries: Allowed for every competitions. Mail us your entry before Saturday 23rd of June.

Push’n’Pop, the Amstrad CPC scene page, asked their members for a vote to create charts of the best productions, etc. for the last year. And here are the results (as you can see, mostly french sceners voted – water and wine are on top in the ‘top drinks’ list Zwinkerndes Smiley):

256 byte Overscan Megatext Intro

Matahari from turkey released his first demo for the CPC. It is a scroller in overscan which features 50 Hz hardware scroll, overscan, all 27 colours of the CPC and this all within 256 bytes. You can download it from Pouet.net and don’t forget to vote for it!

30 years megademo – call for demomakers

It is a bit too early to celebrate the 30th birthday of the CPC, but it isn’t too early to start a call for demomakers. The CPC demogroups Benediction and Vanity want to create a megademo which will be released in 2014 and they want YOU to participate. There is still plenty of time left, so don’t be lazy and register on Push’n’Pop for the competition!

Here is the original message from the Push’n’Pop website:

“To celebrate the 30th anniversary of our beloved CPC, Benediction and Vanity are proud to invite you to participate in the 30 years CPC megademo project! The aim is to build a new classic CPC megademo, with screens from any demogroup, and release it in 2014.

The megademo comity will be in charge of managing the project, coding the menu, linking and releasing the megademo with the utmost respect to the deadlines set. We will provide technical specifications or limitations as soon as possible (i.e., reserved memory, …) and support to ease the integration of the various demo-parts.

Rules

  1. The megademo must be developed in a friendly, funny scene atmosphere, by sceners that really want to promote the CPC.
  2. Your demos might not have to use state of the art demo effects, but crap-parts won’t be accepted (i.e. bad screen frequency, no novelty at all, boring, …).
  3. Demos written in Locomotive BASIC won’t be accepted.
  4. This is an Amstrad CPC megademo. Amstrad Plus-only demos won’t be accepted.
  5. Only one demo per group.
  6. Your demo must run perfectly on CRTC types 0 and 1, and also support type 2 as best as possible. Exception to this rule could be made for demos showing mindblowing CRTC-specific pr0n effects, but we would prefer not having such demos.
  7. The recommended format is the uber-classic-one-screen demo-part, but this is not mandatory.
  8. Demos that do not respect the rules and/or specifications won’t be accepted.
  9. Public previews are forbidden, except on the initiative of the comity during CPC meetings only (in order to improve quality of the megademo).

Deadlines

SATURDAY MARCH 31, 2012: Registration end.
SUNDAY JUNE 30, 2013: Final version of your part sent to the comity.”

Bloc us demo released on Evoke 2011

Ok… I blogged you :-)! Ultrasyd, Krusty and Voxfrex released their new demo “Bloc us” on the Evoke 2011 demo party which was held in Cologne from 12th to 14th August. The demo was ranked on 9th place in the “Alternative Platform Compo”. It features great music, nice effects, is a trakmo… but watch it by yourself. You can download it from Pouet or at the end of this posting.
